Early corporate career in Japan
Believe it or not, I was the first woman from ex-Yugoslavia to land a corporate job in Japan. At the time I felt a bit overwhelmed with media interviews about this ‘newsworthy event'. I worked for a Japanese company for 10 years, meaning I developed my Japanese business language skills to a high level.
I won a prize at a Japanese business language contest at SOAS in London when I gave a speech to an audience of 300 people. For 10 years or so, I spoke 3 languages on a daily basis – Serbian, English and Japanese.
The funny thing is – you use completely different facial muscles when speaking these languages and also your facial expressions are different – according to the language and situation.
Oh boy that was tiring! Maybe it was like facial yoga which is popular these days, who knows?!
Love all things cross-cultural!
I absolutely love world cinema, world literature and comparing various cultures, both in social and business settings.
I have travelled to over 50 countries and looking forward to more.
Bringing together my love for travel and translation, I actually translated a travel essay – 2 volumes of encyclopaedia size books, written by a doctor whose passion for travel took him to 203 countries.
This work took a few years! I am also a great enthusiast of Meditation, Fitness and Dance.
I believe in a holistic approach to health and well-being and teach my clients to care for physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of their being.
I am a writer!
I have published several book translations. I regularly publish on:
Forbes, Thrive Global, Medium, and other platforms.
I am also the co-author of JOY- Recipes for Abundance.
